Please join me in welcoming to Community Radar™ the Lindbergh-LaVista Corridor Coalition (LLCC) and the Dresden East Civic Association (DECA)!
These community-oriented organizations are the latest in a growing list
of group and individual subscribers to our one-of-kind civic news
sharing service sponsored at CommunityRadar.com.
Why should you care? As more and more area residents and civic groups participate in the Community Radar™ process,
the benefits to each of us increases. Business owners, residents,
property owners, and civic leaders amplify their contributions to their
community when they join the Community Radar™ network to begin sharing
news, events, and goals.
DECA encompasses 8 Communities, 1220 Homes, 1470 Registered Voters. In their own words, DECA is:
" ... a non-profit civic association created to preserve and enhance
our neighborhoods. We are guided in our work by overall community
interests dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life
for residents in the DECA neighborhoods and surrounding areas.
Underlying our a
ssociation’s
existence is the importance of influencing various issues that may
impact our neighborhoods, both short and long term. We are very active
in DeKalb county affairs through membership on civic-minded boards,
commissions, and other groups."
LLCC is made up of concerned residents and businesses of Lindridge-Martin Manor, LaVista Park, and Woodland Hills. LLCC's mission statement:
"It is our aim to plan
for and study the issues that face this corridor. We are embarking on an effort to bring in outside expertise to help us develop a Master Plan for the corridor to have an influence on the changes that are facing us."
Based on the fact that the Georgia Conservancy has accepted LLCC into
the Blueprints for Successful Communities study program, we can see
that LLCC is deliverying on their civic mission!
Please let your neighbors and associates know about DECA, LLCC, and their civic-minded volunteers!
